HandedDown™

A Squared Roots Co. app for families

HandedDown™ is your family's way of doing things, written down for your kids. Parents write simple step-by-step how-tos: how we do laundry, what to do if you get lost, how to ride the bus. Kids open them on their own phones whenever they need them.

How it works

• Start your family. A parent signs in with Google and gets a private family space with a set of starter how-tos to edit or replace.
• Write it your way. Each how-to has numbered steps, a short "why we do it this way," and an age level: green for 7 and up, blue for 10 and up, black diamond for 13 and up.
• Keep the basics close. A "Know by heart" card holds the things every kid should memorize, like home address, parents' numbers and a meeting spot.
• Hand it down. Kids join with a family code. They don't need an email address or an account, and they can read but never change anything.
• Works offline. Every phone keeps a copy, so the how-tos are there even without a signal.

Where to get it

HandedDown for Android is coming soon to Google Play.
