Net Worth Calculator: Assets Minus Debts
Your net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. A negative number is a starting point, not a grade.
What you own
What you owe
What to include
Assets: cash in checking and savings, retirement accounts, other investments, and the resale value of things like a home or car (what you could sell it for today, not what you paid).
Debts: credit cards, car loans, student loans, a mortgage, medical bills and personal loans. Use the current payoff balance.
Update it on the same day each month. If it's moving up, your plan is working, whatever the number is today.
